Mute ("Mute," "we," "our," or "us") provides a browser extension designed to modify the visual interface of YouTube and other sites in order to remove certain algorithmic features such as Shorts, recommendations, autoplay, or AI generated content.

Mute is built with a privacy-first architecture.

At this time Mute does not sell, rent, or share personal information unless explicitly stated in this Policy.

A. Information Collected Automatically

By default, the Mute browser extension:

  • Does not share browsing data
  • Does not collect personally identifying data
  • Does not collect authentication credentials

All functionality operates locally within the user's browser.

When visiting muteapp.org, standard website analytics or hosting providers may automatically collect limited technical information, such as:
